Considering everything going on in the world today, maybe we all need to take a step back and laugh.
A Manitowoc man hopes to do just that with a show he will host tomorrow (June 24e) to Deja vu.
Jay Meeks told us he’s been hosting comedy shows and open mic nights in Appleton and Green Bay to help people get happy again.
“Comedy really is like medicine for the soul” Meeks explained. “Just get out of the house, laugh, have a good time, get away from your troubles or whatever you’re going through. Release some of that stress.
The show will feature five comedians that Jay worked with in Green Bay, but if this show goes well, Jay said he plans to host open-mic nights to find more hidden comedic talent.
“I think people are going to like it because people like it over there in Green Bay, they like it over there in Appleton,” Meeks said. “Manitowoc is such a supportive city, why not bring it here? »
There will be a $10 entry fee at the door, with money raised going directly to the comics.
Jay also said that if this show does well, he might seek out bigger venues such as The Wharf or even the Capitol Civic Center.
Deja Vue is located at 214 North 8e Street, and the show will start at 6:00 p.m.
