In 2020, gun deaths in United States has reached record highs – with gun-related homicides jumping to a startling 35 percent (source: The New York Times). Between a recent shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo and a fatal shooting at a church in Orange County, the acts of violence continue to escalate, leaving many people in a state of despair. With Gun Violence Awareness Month in June, there’s no better time than now to stop giving attackers our energy and start advocating for solutions.
As a former intensive juvenile probation officer at Fulton County, Georgia and a comedian who tackles social issues, Larry has a unique perspective on America’s gun problem, and he’s truly passionate about helping others. Its mission goes beyond comedy as it aims to reduce gun violence nationwide through laughter and practical advice to help communities identify high-risk behaviors and prevent violence. Larry’s movement has inspired others and he will be joined on stage by top entertainment talent to promote healing through humor, including:
- Skyler Q. Andrews – from Augusta Minister of Joy and Winner of 1st Chevy Nite Club “It’s My Comedy Contest”
- Christy Gavnell – Comedian on national and international tour
- Lawrence Williams – BMF, Black Panther 2, Creed 3
