Fans of Wendy Williams Show host Sherri Shepherd think her 16-year-old son Jeffrey looks unrecognizable in rare video
SHERRI Shepherd is rarely eclipsed, but her growing teenage son Jeffrey towers over his mother in a new video, and fans are stunned.
The talk show host, who replaced Wendy Williams to the public delight, posted a Christmas post on Instagram wishing fans a Merry Christmas.
The 16-year-old joined reluctantly, after pushing his mother a lot.
âHey everyone, this is Sherri and Jeffrey,â the mom said on the video, as her son followed with a quick âMerry Christmasâ.
This was immediately followed by several moments of awkward silence before Sherri asked her son if there was anything else he would like to say.
An uncomfortable Jeffrey muttered, “Thanks guys, enjoy your Christmas, stay safe,” before walking away.
Sherri, now alone, stood up to the camera: “It’s celebrating Christmas with a teenager. New mindset. Merry Christmas everyone.”
The 54-year-old reiterated the sentiment in the video caption, writing, “I want to be stuck in the house over Christmas with a teenager! I want to scream.”
Fans were appalled at the teenager’s age and growth.
One person commented, “Wait, I’m behind. Is he taller than you now or is he standing on something ?? Handsome young man.”
This elicited a response from Sherri herself, admitting, “He’s taller than me.”
Another fan pointed out, “Girl, Jeffrey is done!”
Sherri has a lot to celebrate this holiday, including rave reviews since she took over the show from Wendy Williams.
The Wendy Williams Show star may never return to her couch, due to health complications from her Graves disease.
And if she’s forced to quit, fans want Sherri to step in permanently.
On The Wendy Show’s official Instagram, fans inundated the comments with their wishes for the future of the show.
“Sherri is the best of them all,” one wrote, while another agreed, “No one else needs to host this show but Sherri Shepherd hands down.”
A third remarked: âSherri Shepherd is the greatest entertainer ever! So much energy. Excellent work !
âSherri does a great job as a host. And I love the outfit,â complimented another.
One finale said, “Love Sherri makes her the permanent host.”
RETURN TO NYC
Sherri became one of the many hostesses who took to the stage after Wendy’s near-fatal health problems this fall.
The mother-of-one, who has been away from her talk show for months, was recently spotted looking stoic during her time with her son.
Wendy has held onto her 21-year-old son Kevin Jr during her travels in New York City as she continues to grapple with her health issues.
BATTLE OF HEALTH
Earlier this year, the TV personality tested positive for Covid-19 and was then rushed to hospital for “psychiatric services”.
In November, Wendy first opened up about her struggles, and while she assured fans she was improving, they won’t see her returning to her show anytime soon.
âAs everyone knows my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than expected,â she told her fans.
The host continued, “I am an older woman and know enough to listen to my doctors and I will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree that I am ready.”
However, according to a source close to the show, Wendy will “never” return and a new host will be announced at some point in January of the New Year.
