Gogglebox puts out the best entertainment show at OzTam Overnights

In what is a historically slow night on the box, Channel Ten had the rare honor of dominating entertainment programming with Gogglebox drawing 543,000 viewers (five city metro), according to OzTam.

Gogglebox is also among the most streamed shows, with last Thursday’s episode receiving a 39% boost within seven days of its live broadcast, so we can expect to see a nice number next Thursday for all seven program viewing days. Stay tuned!

Notice that Gogglebox only managed to rank as the sixth most-watched program behind Seven News (888,000 at 6 p.m., 885,000 at 6:30 p.m.), Nine News (778,000 at 6 p.m., 752,000 at 6:30 p.m.) and ABC News (569,000). All subway numbers obviously five cities overnight.

The extra night for MasterChef also paid off for Ten, with the show garnering its second-biggest viewership of the week at 490,000, behind the Easter Monday launch of 545,000. The Voice and Lego Masters have both taken their leave.

All in all, the night was a close race, but Nine managed to take his first win of the week. The main channel of Nine (18.8%) overtook the main channel of Seven (17.7%) for the total audience share of the five-city metro. And Nine (26.9%) also beat out Seven (25.7%) with an all-channel share.

As you’d expect, Ten had its best performance of the week with 15.6% for its main channel and 21.9% overall.

ABC got 10.5 and 16.4 percent while SBS only managed 4.6 and 9.1 percent respectively.
