Netflix canceled another popular show after two seasons
Netflix is losing a lot of subscribers right now, largely due to a number of factors well outside the streaming giant’s control.
The cost of living crisis and Russia’s withdrawal have taken a heavy toll on Netflix, leading the company to post its biggest loss in nearly 10 years, announce tough new crackdowns on sharing pass and cancel several projects.
According to The Hollywood Reporterthe satirical sitcom of Steve Carell and John Malkovich space force will not return for season three.
Inspired by former President Donald Trump’s belief that the so-called “Space Force” would be a successful new branch of the US military, the Netflix series centered on the character of Steve Carrell and his attempts to make something believable from the idea.
While the show’s first season got a very poor 39% on Rotten Tomatoes, reviews for the second season suggest a much improved show that finally struck the right balance between comedy and drama.
Unfortunately, it looks like we’re never going to see how much the series could have improved. space force now joins a long line of Netflix original shows that will never get the chance to realize their full potential. However, given that THR adds that Carrell made around $1 million per episode, deciding to end this one might have been one of Netflix’s easier decisions.
