Pete Davidson has different friends than the rest of us. Friday night, as part of Netflix is ​​a Joke: The Festival, the SNL star brought together some of his favorite comedians for Pete Davidson Presents: Best Friendsclosing the evening with a special surprise: a set of three songs by Machine Gun Kelly.

Pete Davidson Presents: Best Friends was filmed live for later distribution on Netflix, and Netflix released a clip of Davidson’s introduction to MGK, in which Davidson reflects on how in 2018 he and MGK were living together at Davidson’s mother’s house, convinced that their career was over. “Now he’s one of the biggest names we could ever get,” adds Davidson.

Davidson opened the show with a short set that recently touched on the chaos in his life, followed by performances from comedians Carly Aquilino, Giulio Gallarotti, Joey Gay, Jordan Rock, Dave Sirus, Big Wet and Neko White. He also stayed on stage for MGK’s set to perform a duet with the rapper/best friend.

MGK’s career, despite ritual humiliation at the hands of the guys at Jackass, has seen a boom recently, with two number one albums and recent plans to return to rapping.
