Romesh Ranganathan to pilot new entertainment show with his mother
Romesh Ranganathan is piloting a new comedy entertainment TV show.
Much like The Ranganation, the BBC Two format he hosts and which has just completed its fifth series, the new program will also feature his mother, Shanthi Ranganathan.
Speaking of The Romesh Ranganathan Show, the producers say, “We will have a celebrity guest list, hilarious games and amazing musical performances. Romesh is also accompanied by his outspoken mother Shanthi to keep him in check! You won I don’t want to miss it…”
A pilot episode is due to be taped at the Tabernacle in Notting Hill on Tuesday December 6 (free tickets).
It’s currently unclear which channel the format is for, but the star has a particularly strong relationship with BBC Two and Sky Max. Further details are expected to be revealed in due course.
Romesh remains one of the busiest comedians on television. In addition to his regular presenting work and guest appearances, a Rob And Romesh Vs football special airs tonight and his new stand-up special Romesh Ranganathan: The Cynic is coming to Netflix at the end of the month.
