Shabir Ahluwalia quits popular show after 7 years? Here’s what we know
Kumkum Bhagya actor Shabir Ahluwalia has quit the show, according to a report from the Hindustan Times. Shabir has been part of the show for 7 years. According to the report, it was a mutual decision between the show’s creators and the actor. A source revealed to the publication that Shabir and Ekta Kapoor (manufacturer) are friends and remain cordial. The source added that it was done without “any haste”. Apparently Shabir hasn’t been part of the daily soap for some time. Fans of the show weren’t very happy about this and wanted him back. However, the creators want to focus on the new characters in the series.
The report also mentions that Shabir is already in talks with the creators of another channel for a new show. The show is yet to be titled and will be helmed by producer Yash Patnaik. It is supposed to be on the floors from the end of March. The source said that although everything is almost finalized, he has not signed the contract. The actor said “no comment” on the developments.
Recently at the Zee Rishtey Awards, Shabir’s Kumkum Bhagya co-star Sriti Jha went missing. Shabir made him a video call. He had said, “I feel incomplete without my co-star Sriti today. This is the first time in 8 years that I have attended the Zee Rishtey Awards without her. Abhi will always be incomplete without Pragya. And to participate in this celebration, I will try to connect with her via video call, let’s see if she responds.
