Talk show host Thaddeus Matthews in custody

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis talk show host is now in custody after a woman claimed he violated an active protection order, police say.

Police said on January 4, the woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, Thaddeus Matthews, posted a video on YouTube regarding the protection order she had against him.

The woman told police Matthews posted a video as The Cussing Pastor titled “When Women Try to Destroy You Using the System,” according to court documents. An arrest warrant was then filed against him.

Police said Matthews said in the video he was going to visit Mississippi in the hope of avoiding arrest.

Matthew also called the woman many derogatory names and explained how he took care of her nine years ago, court documents show.

Three days later, on January 7, the woman reported that Matthews had violated an active restraining order for the second time. This incident happened on Matthew’s Facebook, police said.

Court documents say the protection order case bars Matthews from communicating who would worry the woman.

The woman told police the messages made her fear for her safety.

Matthews is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
