The footballer had previously spoken of his meeting with his wife Ellie, saying that when he saw her for the first time it was “love at first sight, but not for her”.
The couple met when the England star was playing for Tottenham, announcing their engagement in August 2009 and getting married two years later.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph in 2018, Jenas added: âShe has been a rock that brought the family through difficult times.
âIt was love at first sight when I saw her, but not for her. She wasn’t impressed by this cheeky, arrogant guy who thought she would be run over when I got in my Ferrari. actually got rid of the car because it was too noisy!
“She told me that she thought when we first met that I was a bit of an overconfident jerk, but I finally won her over.
“She’s down to earth, not interested in football and has never been impressed by her glow. She stabilized me, calmed me down, helped me grow and calm me down, and totally supported me when everything went downhill in my injuries. “
