Today’s show host Karl Stefanovic calls on reporter to “look like a deer stuck in headlights” during newsworthy live cross










A Today reporter blushed after Today host Karl Stefanovic called him live on Friday.

The reporter, named Ezra Holt, was presenting information about Western Australia’s new quarantine facility for international travelers.

After Ezra’s story ended, sports presenter Charles Croucher started talking before Karl interrupted him: “Just quickly, can I talk to Ezra?

‘Ezra, are you there my man? Esdras, are you there? Karl asked.

“He looks nervous,” joked Karl’s co-host Allison Langdon.

Moments later, Ezra smiled and replied, ‘Yes, how are you Karl?’

“Could you be more handsome?” Karl then asked him, as the breakfast team burst out laughing.

‘I can try,’ Ezra replied, to which Karl replied, ‘Oh yeah!’.

After the incident, Ezra shared the footage on Twitter and mocked his reaction.

“Looks like a deer stuck in the headlights after Karl Stefanovic called me,” he captioned the video.

He also shared a screenshot of his stunned reaction and wrote: “Have you ever seen eyes this big?”

Ezra previously worked as an associate producer for Nine’s regional newsletter before landing a reporter role in Victoria.

He joined the Perth press team in June 2021.
