Tom Cruise leaves ‘The Late Late Show’ host James Corden terrified of fighter jet, latter says ‘it’s crazy’
Hollywood star Tom Cruise recently took ‘The Late Late Show’ host James Corden on a plane in a special video, four years after he asked the latter to jump out of a plane.
The actor picked up Corden, who revealed he was leaving the late-night world in April, for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the desert, piloting him in a vintage fighter jet for the afternoon. In the video, Tom can be heard saying, “I’m very excited for James to do this. Was it the first late night show I asked? Surely not. He was just the first, the only one to say yes.
According to “Deadline,” Tom Cruise and Corden then got into a dogfight in the classic plane. Just when Corden thinks he has survived, Cruise informs him that the two will be going back up again – this time in a jet suitable for modern aerial warfare. The first, however, is Top Gun training. “You are my goose,” Cruise says. “When you say I’m your Goose, it gets me excited and then I realize Goose dies at the end of the movie,” Corden replies.
Corden, who is best known for driving with celebrities in cars around LA rather than airplanes in the desert, and Tom Cruise manage to bust a few bars of Kenny Loggins’ classic song Top Gun Danger Zone during their night of fire of field.
“This is crazy,” Corden says, not understating the situation, making for a perfect viral Late Late Show segment. “You can be my wingman, anytime,” Cruise concludes as they disembark. “You know what? I think I’m good,” Corden laughs.
