Zoe Ball had to be replaced twice during its Radio 2 Monday breakfast show.

The presenter was absent from the start of her live show at 7 a.m. and had to leave before her show was over, along with travel reporter Richie Anderson.

Zoe had arrived 30 minutes late for her show after her car had a flat tire.

“A bit of a drama on a Monday morning,” she said, as she finally got on the air. “Nothing like starting your week. Richie, what a star.

However, Zoe had to leave the microphone again after falling ill later on the show.

Richie continued to present until 8:30 a.m., when Ken Bruce went on the air an hour before his timeslot.

Zoe then assured fans that she was fine, revealing that the drama earlier in the morning had taken her away.

She tweeted, “Apologies for that morning gang, Tire went to work. I was so desperate not to miss the show, I rushed in and didn’t quite realize the effect it had on me. I’m doing well. thank you for the beautiful messages.

“Big thanks to Richie and Ken for stepping in. We’ll be back tomorrow xx.”

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show airs weekdays from 7am on BBC Radio 2.
